Our philosophy is that we want to learn about YOU – your goals, interests and why you鈥檙e a great fit to join our Merrimack community. We look closely at your transcript and GPA to evaluate your academic performance and will not use test scores in this process.
Which application should you submit?听
- : If you have already started your Common App, go ahead and finish it! If you intend on majoring in nursing, please submit the Common App.
- : This option breaks the process down into smaller steps that are faster, easier and more manageable to complete. No essays or recommendations are required.
Freshman Deadlines
You can apply for either a fall (August) or spring (January) start. When would you like to begin?

The rest of your supporting documents can be submitted shortly after, and you can always reach out to your admission counselor if you need a little more time.

In order for a freshman application to be considered 鈥渃omplete,鈥 you must complete the following items:

- High school transcripts
- Common Application Secondary School Report (SSR)
- One letter of recommendation from a teacher or school counselor
We encourage you to submit first quarter or trimester grades and any supplemental documents you would like us to review. This can include additional recommendations or resumes.听

What We Consider
Merrimack鈥檚 Admission Committee considers every aspect of your application and credentials, including the following:
- Academic achievement
- Strength of curriculum
- Community involvement
- Extracurricular activities
- Interview (recommended)
- Essay
Test Scores
We do not use test scores in our application review process. Instead, we look closely at your transcript, GPA and other application documents to evaluate your academic performance and fit.
Standardized tests scores will not be required for students applying for nursing for the fall of 2024.

Once you submit your application, you will receive an email with further instructions to log into your application portal.听Through this听, you鈥檒l be able to see if we are missing any items, update your information, view your documents, and check your application status. This is also where you will be informed of your admission decision.
